Technology meets nature with this black walnut iPad stand made from imperfect pieces of Oregon hardwood by Block & Sons Co.  

This intriguing wavy wall, consisting of undulating ribbons of walnut, was rafted by D&L Wood Products in a high-end residential building in Chicago.

After losing its original sycamore tree to decay in 2010, Virginia Tech was able to clone and replant the beloved sycamore earlier this year.
